I am inspired to find the
truth
Some of my most exciting stories…
I met Delfena and Maria, two Spanish-speaking residents at one of New York City’s low-income housing complexes. They had a story to tell in Spanish that was different than what the media said about them.
Then, the Legal Aid Society stepped on a case, after reading my story.
One Year Later… the case is still on
I was able to use my Spanish speaking skills for that story and it furthered my interest in covering investigative reporting, which I can use in any topic I cover. At Straus News, I have covered real estate, as well as crime involving police reports — some of my most exciting work.

Fire Tragedy: Soho Blaze Claims 2nd Life: 70 year-old Son Follows Death of 95 Year Old Father
In this story I covered at Straus News, I was able to identify the victim of the fire before other news reports, by going to the site and finding details of the funeral service.

A Little Bit of Rock, a Little Bit of Pop and a Whole Lot of Nana
I wrote this article for the NYU magazine, where I was able to get backstage access to my subject’s concert to get an accurate representation of my subject’s day-in-the-life.
“Alessia interned for us at Agent Publishing in the summer of 2020 and showed a strong desire to learn and grow in her career. Alessia was able to step out of her comfort zone and take on a variety of responsibilities from writing to posting stories online and on social media, among others. Near the end of her internship, she wrote a feature about how to sell real estate using TikTok, and it was one of our most widely read stories of the year. It ran on our websites in Chicago, Boston, Miami, Houston and Atlanta and had a strong readership in all of our markets. I wish we had a position for her at the magazine now because I'd hire her in a minute.”
